Ransin Injury Law, O’Reilly & Preston LLC and O’Reilly Hospitality Management LLC are relocating their headquarters to the east side of town.
Ransin Injury Law owner David Ransin said general contractor Q & Co. LLC is building the 20,500-square-foot office designed by Buxton Kubik Dodd Creative. The firms expect to move in to the 4045 E. Sunshine St. shared office in mid-2017.
“That part of Sunshine we see as developing,” Ransin said of the land just east of Bill Darr’s American Dehydrated Foods Inc.
Through R&O LLC, Ransin and Tim O’Reilly are building on four acres. Ransin said the land is zoned for up to 65,000 square feet of office space, and the partners likely would add one or two additional buildings in the future for other companies.
Ransin said he originally purchased 11.6 acres of land at the site but ran into hurdles with neighbors over plans to build a north-south development. With O’Reilly on as a partner, the original project was denied by the Springfield Planning & Zoning Commission. The partners then sold off around 7.5 acres for residences and created an east-west plan that’s been approved. Ransin, O’Reilly and three nearby property owners also are cost-sharing an expansion of sewer lines in the area.
Ransin Injury Law has operated at 1650 E. Battlefield Road in leased space for 26 years. O’Reilly & Preston and O’Reilly Hospitality Management employees work at 2664 E. Kearney St. O’Reilly could not be reached for comment by deadline.
Ransin said his law firm would comprise about 4,000 square feet of the new two-story building, with O’Reilly’s companies taking most of the remainder. Shared space would be available to employees of all three companies.
