Verizon to acquire Yahoo in $4.8B deal

Verizon Communications today announced plans to acquire Yahoo for $4.8 billion in cash.

The deal includes Yahoo's core operating business and patents.

Last year, Verizon acquired AOL for $4.4 billion.
