Verizon revenue falls nearly 7%

Verizon Communications posted a 6.7 percent drop in quarterly revenue as it discounted heavily to attract subscribers.

Revenue was $30.9 billion, a drop from $33.2 billion a year earlier.

Net income fell to $3.6 billion, or 89 cents per share, from $4 billion, or 99 cents per share, in third-quarter 2015.
