Nearly 40,000 striking Verizon employees will return to work Wednesday after reaching a tentative contract agreement, The Associated Press reports.
The contract includes 1,300 new call center jobs, a nearly 11 percent raise over a four-year period and a a first-time contract for Verizon wireless store workers.
The deal with the Communications Workers of America union would end one of the largest U.S. strikes in recent years.
