The city of St. Louis is considering privatizing operations at Lambert International Airport.
City officials submitted a preliminary privatization application to the Federal Aviation Administration. The city, which owns the airport, is seeking the ability to lease to private operators.
The city is working with Grow Missouri Inc., a nonprofit funded by billionaire investor Rex Sinquefield. The city currently receives about $6 million from the airport under current law. Grow Missouri spokesman Travis Brown said that figure would increase by four to 10 times under a public-private partnership.
