Report: Barclays to announce new CEO

Barclays PLC is preparing to name former JPMorgan Chase & Co. executive Jes Staley as its next chief executive, as the British bank once again turns to an American investment banker for leadership, sources familiar with the matter told Dow Jones Newswires.

The appointment could be made in the coming weeks.

Its former leader, Anthony Jenkins, was ousted in July amid concerns of lackluster performance and slow progress on restructuring.
