Netflix raises monthly price

The popular subscription service that allows customers to watch their choice of movies and TV shows on demand is raising its monthly price to $9.99.

The $1 raise will affect new Netflix customers in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. It will not affect current subscribers for a year, according to CNNMoney.

The standard monthly plan allows a household to use two different devices at the same time. The basic and premium plan will continue to cost the same amount
