Lockheed Martin is nearing a deal worth $35 billion to $40 billion.

Through the deal, Lockheed would supply 440 F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter jets to the United States and 10 of its allied nations.

"This more than doubles the total amount of airplanes under contract, and that we'll be building," executive Jeff Babione said at the Paris Air Show.
