KY3 sending staff support to Virginia station

Posted online
Springfield NBC affiliate KY3 is sending two staff members – anchor Steve Grant and reporter Eric Hilt – to the Virginia television station that had two of its journalists killed Wednesday morning.

KY3 morning anchor Maria Neider tweeted that Grant and Hilt would help with daily news coverage in response to the tragedy. Hilt also posted a tweet saying they were headed to Roanoke, Va., to help out.

Indiana-based Schurz Communications owns both WDBJ and KY3. WDBJ journalists Alison Parker, 24, and Adam Ward, 27, were shot and killed during a live broadcast yesterday morning at a shopping center about 35 miles from Roanoke. The suspect, Vester Flanagan, 41, died yesterday afternoon of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
