Japan's paternity leave lawmaker to resign over sex scandal

A Japanese politician who made headlines over his plans to become the country's first member of parliament to take paternity leave says he intends to resign over a sex scandal.

Kensuke Miyazaki, a member of the governing Liberal Democratic Party, announced he had an affair with another woman just days before his wife gave birth to their son.

His wife Megumi Kaneko, who also is a lawmaker, gave birth to their son a week ago.
