Ford's profits drop

On higher costs and lower sales, Ford reported decreased quarterly profits.

The Dearborn, Michigan-based company posted net income of $1.6 billion, a drop from $2.5 billion a year earlier.

That equates to 40 cents per share, which is down from 61 cents per share in first-quarter 2016.
