ConAgra to lay off 75 as it closes St. Louis County plant

Posted online
Package food maker ConAgra Food Inc. will close a food manufacturing facility in St. Louis County, which will result in the loss of 75 jobs.

The Omaha, Neb.-based company's layoff date is scheduled April 8.

The plant makes Egg Beater products.

"Following a careful evaluation of the total cost and capabilities of the plant, we determined that it is necessary to close the facility and move the production to another location," ConAgra officials said in a statement. "We informed our employees in July of 2014 and we are scheduled to close the plant this spring."
