Campbell Soup posts better-than-expected earnings

While Campbell Soup's quarterly earnings fell to $194 million from $248 million last year, they beat analysts' predictions.

Excluding items, Campbell earned 95 cents per share, beating the average analyst estimate of 76 cents.

Sales decreased 2.3 percent to $2.2 billion, below estimates of $2.21 billion.
