Apple, Cisco unveil business partnership

Apple Inc. and Cisco Systems Inc. announced a business partnership yesterday designed to allow iPhones and iPads to communicate more effectively on corporate networks where Cisco gear is widely used.

The companies also plant to work on technology that would help iPhone and iPad users better use Cisco's collaboration products, including its video- and Web-conferencing services, according to Dow Jones Newswires.

Apple has increasingly built up its business presence. Last year, it struck a deal with IBM Corp. to jointly create apps for the workplace. The agreement also called on IBM employees to help sell and support Apple devices with corporate clients.
