'X-Men: Apocalypse' rules, 'Alice' struggles at holiday box office

"X-Men: Apocalypse" opened with an $80 million debut during the long Memorial Day weekend.

"Alice Through the Looking Glass" disappointed with $34.2 million over four days.

The ninth film in the "X-Men" franchise came in below 2014's Memorial Day outing "X-Men: Days of Future Past," which made $110.6 million over the same span.
