Downtown Pharmacy
Licensed pharmacist Charles David Kerr and his wife Denise opened Downtown Pharmacy on Sept. 9 at 655 S. Campbell Ave. Near downtown, the Kerrs employ three full-time and two part-time workers at the 1,300-square-foot store. David Kerr said startup costs were around $100,000, and the property is leased from Main Sale Enterprises LLC. In addition to walk-in business, Downtown Pharmacy provides delivery services for medications, and the owners are working toward making immunizations available in the near future. Kerr said the process to get the business off the ground included licensing through the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and Missouri Board of Pharmacy. Hours: 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 351-3774.

Git n Go Inc.
Rodney Barekman incorporated the name Git N Go Inc. and opened a convenience store Sept. 21 at 3030 S. Jefferson Ave., a former Kum & Go property. The Git n Go brand, then based in Tulsa, Okla., previously operated two-dozen stores in Springfield for over 25 years, before Kum & Go bought it post-bankruptcy in 2004. Barekman researched the availability of the Git n Go name after an employee suggested he use it with this venture.  “Everybody loved Git n Go, the family service and going out of the way to help customers,” said Barekman, who also owns a Tobacco Plus store through Rodney Barekman Enterprises Inc. He leases the 2,500-square-foot convenience store property for undisclosed terms. Declining to disclose startup costs, Barekman said he runs the store with four employees. Hours: 6 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.–10 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m.–10 p.m. Sunday. Phone: (417) 887-6541.

Color Art Integrated Interiors LLC
St. Louis-based Color Art Integrated Interiors LLC on Aug. 1 opened a showroom at 2137 W. Kingsley St., Ste. C, formerly Springfield Office Supply, which liquidated its inventory in February. Jodie Ryndak, vice president of business development for Color Art Integrated Interiors of Springfield, said the 1,200-square-foot space leased from Assemblies of God Credit Union is the company’s first physical site since entering the Springfield market in January. Terms of the lease and startup costs for the corporately owned and operated office were not disclosed. Ryndak said former Springfield Office Supply owner Bill Abbott serves as market manager for Color Art’s sales and installations of corporate furnishings, artwork, flooring, technology integration, renovations and business relocation management. Other employees are Teresa Bradley, a designer also formerly with Springfield Office Supply, and April Mann, a business development representative. The credit union operates in a portion of the building. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday; evenings and weekends by appointment. Phone: (417) 883-4121. Web: Color-Art.com
