O'Bannon Bank to open first Springfield branch

Posted online
O'Bannon Bank is opening its first Springfield branch at the site of a former taco restaurant.

Bank CEO Bill Monday said the company is targeting a September opening date for the branch at 3120 E. Sunshine St.

O’Bannon Bank in December bought the building, where Springfield Gourmet Taco Co. operated until it changed its name to Great American Taco Co. and relocated to 2915 E. Battlefield Road last year. Monday declined to disclose purchase terms with former building owner Sunshine 3120 LLC, a company registered by Tim Roth, according to Missouri secretary of state filings. According to LoopNet.com, the 3,220-square-foot building was listed for sale at $1.1 million.

“We’ve had a significant presence in the Springfield market for some time,” Monday said, noting the branch would be O’Bannon Bank’s first brick-and-mortar site in the Queen City. “It’s our second-largest market outside of Buffalo as far as loan growth and potential.”

Federal Protection Inc.’s contracting division has worked the past three months renovating the exterior and interior of the building. When finished, the eight- to 10-employee full-service branch would include a drive-thru and ATM.

O’Bannon Bank operates two branches in Buffalo and one each in Fair Grove, Strafford and Pleasant Hope, according to its website.
