Missouri State University and Ozarks Technical Community College yesterday signed an articulation agreement involving the schools’ honors programs.
Through the agreement, OTC honors graduates will automatically be eligible for MSU’s honors program, according to a news release.
“We hope to attract increasing numbers of OTC’s most academically motivated students into Missouri State University’s 190 undergraduate degree options,” said John Chuchiak, director of the MSU Honors College, in the release.
OTC honors students must complete specialized courses, volunteer at campus and community events, and hold a grade-point average of at least 3.5 to graduate from the community college’s program. The MSU program emphasizes public affairs, as well as community and global issues, such as cultural competence and engagement and ethical leadership.
The agreement marks OTC’s fourth between its honors program and a four-year university in Missouri. Others are signed with Drury University, the University of Missouri-Kansas City and Missouri Southern State University, according to the release.
OTC also has an
agreement in place with MSU allowing community college students to transfer their credits to the university.
