Jordan Valley opening clinic in Health Department building

Jordan Valley Community Health Center this month is opening a clinic in a Springfield-Greene County Health Department building that’s long been home to immunization services.

Health Department spokeswoman Kathryn Wall said immunizations will relocate from Westside Public Health Center, 660 S. Scenic Ave., to the department’s main offices located in the Harold K. Bengsch Building at 227 E. Chestnut Expressway.  

That frees up Westside — an immunization center for 13 years —  to be shared by a Jordan Valley clinic and new services offered by the Health Department. The Health Department does not have a formal lease agreement in place with Jordan Valley at this time, Wall said.

“They’re going to evaluate what services are available as they start seeing clients,” Wall said, noting the clinic will start accepting clients on May 30.

The Health Department also has a shared clinic with Jordan Valley in Republic at 550 E. Harrison St.

As to what services the Health Department will offer at Westside, Wall said those details are still being ironed out.

“We are planning right now some rollouts for what that looks like,” she said, noting services would focus on families. “The Westside clinic will be another arm of that general idea, which is just being out in the community.”
