Christian Online Universities ranked College of the Ozarks No. 1 on its second-annual list of the
50 best Christian colleges and universities.
The education research website based its rankings on faculty-to-student ratios, the percentage of first-time students taking a full slate of classes who received grant of scholarship aid, selectivity, retention rate and graduation rate. The schools must have at least 500 students enrolled and be accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools, the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities or the Association of Christian Schools International.
Point Lookout-based C of O, the only Missouri college on the list, was graded favorably based on:
• no tuition via the school’s on-campus work program;
• helping students earn federal and state grants and scholarships; and
• 42 undergraduate majors, 36 minors and 10 preprofessional programs.
The top five schools on the list are:
1. College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout
2. Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego, Calif.
3. Columbia International University, Columbia, S.C.
4. Goshen College, Goshen, Ind.
5. Corban University, Salem, Ore.
