Springfield-based Guaranty Federal Bancshares Inc. (Nasdaq: GFED) signed on to take over more than half of the fifth and final building under development at Farmers Park. Bank officials say they plan to relocate executive offices to the new building.

The company signed a lease with owner Matt O’Reilly and partners for 26,000 square feet on three of four floors of the planned 55,000-square-foot building, 2144 E. Republic Road, according to a news release.

The building, slated to wrap in mid-2017, would house Guaranty’s executives, as well as its accounting, commercial lending, credit, mortgage lending, marketing and human resources services. Guaranty Vice President and Director of Marketing Carlye Wannenmacher said the company’s headquarters would remain at 1341 W. Battlefield Road.

Additionally, the building would include Guaranty’s 10th full-service branch.

“We’ve been looking for the right location to serve our clients in southeast Springfield for some time,” Guaranty Bank President and CEO Shaun Burke said in the release. “Farmers Park is a premier destination in that area with a lot of amenities that fit nicely with our image of the Guaranty Bank of the future.”

The company also announced today it plans to convert existing signage and marketing content to a new logo by the end of 2017.
