Anderson Engineering signs merger with Harrisonville firm

Posted online
Springfield-based Anderson Engineering Inc. has entered a merger agreement with a Harrisonville firm.

Through the deal that closed Jan. 3, Anderson Engineering President and CEO Neil Brady said Bowers Engineering & Surveying Inc. would transition to Anderson Engineering’s seventh office by year’s end. He declined to disclose the terms of the agreement.

“We’re strong in southwest Missouri but we were looking for other opportunities,” Brady said, referencing the Harrisonville area 37 miles south of Kansas City.

Founded in 2001, Bowers Engineering offers civil engineering and land surveying services in the Cass County area, according to Bowers-Survey.com. Brady said the firm has over 50 clients and some $500,000 in annual revenue. Its three employees are staying on board and President Troy Bowers will lead the Harrisonville office.

Anderson Engineering performs civil and geotechnical engineering, land surveying and other services with 78 staff members. Brady estimated the firm’s 2016 revenue at over $8.5 million, an increase from 2015 revenue of $7.7 million.
