For the past year and a half, the 100,000-square-foot building at 300–330 S. Pershing St. has undergone a $15 million renovation project by The Matt Miller Co., which held a news conference Thursday to announce the tenants. About 75 percent of the plaza’s 60,000 square feet of commercial space is leases.
The tenants include:
• Planet Smoothie, a national franchise to be opened by Jay Hickman, owner of Ernie Biggs Piano Bar.
• Ophelia’s, a tapas and wine bar to be opened by Tom Muetzel, a wine specialist with the Society of Wine Educators.
• Grandaddy’s Que & More, a barbecue restaurant moving from Strafford to downtown Springfield. Karl Davis, Michael Allen and Ballory Branstetter are the proprietors.
• Gracie’s Bridal and Special Occasion, a bridal shop and salon that will sell formal gowns and jewelry and provide certified wedding and event consultation.
• Conco Cos., a concrete supplier that will move its business offices and about 30 employees into 12,000 square feet on the building’s second floor.
Wilhoit Plaza also includes 32 lofts on the second floor, which ran into construction delays and did not open Aug. 1 as expected. The move-in date has been pushed back to next week, said Matt Miller, co-owner of The Matt Miller Co.[[In-content Ad]]
