WannaCry linked to North Korean hackers

Security company Symantec says a hacking group with close ties to North Korea was behind the WannaCry attack earlier this month.

The Lazarus group is said to be responsible for the attack. However, according to Symantec, the character of the attack suggested it had not been carried out on behalf of North Korea.

Lazarus also was blamed for the 2014 hack on Sony related to the film "The Interview" and the theft of $81 million from Bangladesh's central bank.
