Trump: Companies will be punished for leaving US

Posted online
During a visit yesterday to Carrier's Indiana plant, President-elect Donald Trump threatened other companies considering leaving the country.

"Companies are not going to leave the U.S. anymore without consequences," Trump said, noting punishments would include higher tariffs paid on imports.

Trump's trip to Indiana was the formal announcement of a deal announced Tuesday where Carrier would keep over 1,000 jobs in the United States rather than move them to Mexico.

According to CNNMoney, Carrier will receive $7 million in financial incentives over the next 10 years from the state of Indiana.
