Sycamore Partners in talks to buy Staples

Private equity firm Sycamore Partners is in advanced talks to acquire Staples Inc., Reuters reports.

Citing people familiar with the matter, the report states Sycamore is finalizing a debt financing package for its bid for Staples.

The company is said to have beat out competitor Cerberus Capital Management for the bid.
