Supreme Court limits locations of patent lawsuits

The Supreme Court voted unanimously yesterday to make it harder for companies to sue for patent infringement in courts they consider friendly to their effort.

Under the ruling, companies must bring lawsuits in the judicial district where the alleged offense occurred.

The ruling reversed an order by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
