Sale near for bankrupt Total Hockey chain

Posted online
After a status hearing this week in the bankruptcy case of Maryland Heights retailer Total Hockey, TSG Enterprises is one step closer to its purchase of the company.

TSG is the Boston-based owner of the Pure Hockey chain, which July 6 offered to buy the 32-store Total Hockey chain for $22.5 million. Pure Hockey and another TSG chain Hockey Giant also have 32 stores, but none in the St. Louis area.

One group objecting to the sale is equipment maker Bauer Hockey, which is claiming a perfected security interest in $8.6 million worth of Total Hockey inventory, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
