Record number of failed US deals so far this year

It’s been a record year for mergers and acquisitions activity in the United States, but not in the way Wall Street has become accustomed to.

According to Dealogic, this year 59 deals worth $493 billion have been wiped off the market.

Dealogic says the first half of the year already has seen the highest U.S. targeted withdrawn M&A on record.
