Procter & Gamble posted better-than-expected quarterly sales and profit, helped by demand for its health care products.
The maker of Tide detergent and Pampers diapers reported core earnings per share, which excludes restructuring charges and other items, of $1.08. Analysts expected $1.06 per share.
Net income attributable to the company rose to $7.9 billion, or $2.88 per share, from $3.2 billion, or $1.12 per share, a year earlier.
