Parole board votes to release O.J. Simpson from prison

Posted online

O.J. Simpson was granted parole Thursday after serving over eight years in prison for a Las Vegas hotel heist.

Simpson, 70, could be released as early as Oct. 1. He’s served the minimum nine years of a 33-year sentence for the 2008 armed robbery involving two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel room.

The former football star recently was portrayed by Cuba Gooding Jr. in a Netflix series chronicling Simpson’s acquittal in the 1994 killings of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.
