Italy's Ferrero International SA, the maker of Nutella and TicTacs, agreed to buy U.S. company Fannie May Confections Brands for $115 million.

The move is said to strengthen Ferrero's foothold in the North American chocolate candy market.

Fannie May is owned by 1-800-Flowers.com Inc. and is sold mainly through online channels.
