Dake Wells Architecture
received five design awards from a professional jury of the American Institute of Architects’ Springfield chapter. They were for the home office for Andy’s Frozen Custard, a Reeds Spring R-IV School District gymnasium, a renovation of Cheek Hall at MSU, the Student Recreation Center for MSU-West Plains and the Glenwood Residence.

Metropolitan National Bank added
Michal Moss Early
as senior vice president/business and development marketing officer and
as a commercial lending officer. Early previously worked as a senior vice president and sales manager at Arvest Bank and in business development for Morelock-Ross Builders. Dunn, who holds an agricultural economics degree from MSU, a master’s from Southwest Baptist University and is a graduate from the Graduate School of Banking, Madison, Wis., previously served as senior vice president with Citizens National Bank and Empire Bank.
, a financial adviser with Penney, Murray and Associates, achieved the designation of chartered retirement planning counselor through the College of Financial Planning. Ladd completed coursework covering retirement planning, and sources of income and personal savings.
Five former MSU faculty and staff were selected as 2012 Wall of Fame inductees and will be honored with plaques in the university’s Plaster Student Union:
, history professor, was appointed by John Ashcroft to the State Historical Records Board and inducted into the Missouri Writers Hall of Fame;
, professor of biology, chaired the university’s Carnegie Education Task Force;
, professor of chemistry, authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications;

, a winner of the Business and Professional Women’s Woman of the Year Award.
MSU’s Students in Free Enterprise team
earned first place in a regional competition in Chicago, which allowed the team to participate in the SIFE national competition in Kansas City.
Dr. Nick Matthews
joined the Barnett-Davis Dental Group. He earned his Doctor in Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and as received the American Association of Endodontists Student Achievement Award, the Pierre Fauchard Academy Award, and the Dentsply International Merit Award.
was honored with Home Instead Senior Care’s Salute to Senior Service Award. Nichols, 79, was recognized for his work at United Ministries for Higher Education, South Street Christian Church, University Child Care Center and the Multiple Sclerosis Society Aquatics Program.
The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons named
Dr. Randall Halley
as its Physician of the Year. Halley has practiced at Ozarks Community Hospital since 2004 and served as the medical director of Ozark River View Manor since 1984.
Dr. Keith LaFerriere
, a board-certified facial plastic surgeon with Mercy Clinic-Facial Plastic Surgery, recently returned from Rome, where he addressed members of the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies and presented a program on facelift and eyelid rejuvenation to more than 800 surgeons from 75 countries. LaFerriere has served on the federation’s board for the past eight years.
joined Akers and Arney as a risk adviser. A former loan officer at Fairway Independent Loan Co., Reggish holds a bachelor’s in accounting and information management from the University of Texas-Dallas.
Community Partnership of the Ozarks appointed
as executive director, chosen after a statewide search that drew more than 100 applicants. Dankert has a bachelor’s degree in arts political science and English from Emory University and Henry College and is a certified grants specialist through the National Grant Writers Association.
She joined Community Partnership in 2002 and most recently served as chief deputy director. She now leads the organization, which works to address community issues such as domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, and drug abuse.
The Doula Foundation of Mid-America added new officers to its board of directors:

issued more than $10,000 in grant funds to five area nonprofit agencies:
OACAC Neighborhood Center, Tantone Industries, Larry Simmering Recovery Center, Faith Community Health Center

Heart of the Ozarks Sertoma Club elected new officers:

, commercial collection manager for Evans & Green LLP, passed the International Association of Commercial Collectors Examination to become a certified commercial collector.

Hardee’s of Southwest Missouri franchisee
was named Franchisee of the Year. Hardee’s of Southwest Missouri was founded in 1982 and currently employs 500.
joined PILR Technology as an account executive. He previously worked as Incredible Pizza Co.’s vice president of marketing and as president of Top Shelf Inc.
