Former SGF politician takes plea deal in Utah commercial terrorism case

Posted online
Scott Eckersley, who was defeated by Billy Long in a race for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010, has agreed to a plea deal in a commercial terrorism case in Utah.

Eckersley also worked in Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt's office as a staff attorney, and filed suit against him after being fired. He now lives in Utah running a business supplying hotels and other businesses with free tourism brochures.

According to Deseret News, Eckersley said he would not contest the state's evidence that he removed rival tourism brochures from the lobby of a building at Zermatt Resort & Spa more than once and threw them away. He's also accused of damaging one of the brochure racks beyond repair.
