German automotive corporation Daimler AG announced yesterday it added a $384 million provision to its 2015 financial results to cover the costs of recalling 840,000 vehicles with potential airbag defects.
The company received notification from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that certain airbag models made by manufacturer Takata are potentially defective.
The recall covers 705,000 Mercedes-Benz cars and about 136,000 Daimler vans in the U.S.
