Dallas-based Steward Health Care System LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The company, which owns St. Joseph Medical Center and Medical Center of Southeast Texas, listed estimated assets and liabilities each in the range of $1 billion to $10 billion.
Steward Health Care System, which has 31 hospitals across eight states, moved its headquarters to Texas from Boston in 2019.
